Dear Ole Smokey Moonshine: Thanks for the Moonshine kit in the cool wooden box. I also wanted to thank you for supporting the Live-Music Scene in Nashville and Music City Roots. Best wishes to you and much success.

Thanks, John, gotta try that (I always opt for coffee at ESS in the morning!). I also like 246's bloody mary, not quite as distinctive as H&F's, but very good.

Bloody Mary at Empire State South is better than the one at H&F in my opinion. Would be interesting if they started making their mix available for sale.

Dude - if you like Sake, you'll like the Silver Oat. To me, they share a lot of characteristics... I'm a fan.

Thanks BMac, the VWFR Rye is wonderful and, indeed, worth the groveling! I actually haven't tried the THH Sazerac, want to, but haven't yet. Heard good things.

The Family Reserve Rye was the first Van Winkle Product I was ever able to acquire (after much begging and pleading.) It was worth the groveling.

For a while it was the only rye in my bar, until I got the Rittenhouse Rye Bottled in Bond. Obviously, the Rittenhouse doesn't compare, by a long shot.

I did acquire a bottle of 2011 Thomas H. Handy Sazerac, but I haven't cracked it open to compare just yet. Somehow, I doubt it'll compare to the Van Winkle; even at cask strength.

Any thoughts on THH-Sazerac versus Van Winkle?
